Assignment #2
Offred the protagonist in Margaret Atwood's fictional novel The Handmaid's Tale goes through a lot in the novel when a war breaks out and she is stripped of her freedom. these tragic circumstances lead to her demise as a whole. Offfred is taken away from her loved ones and is forced to go live with a man they call the Commander where her only purpose is to have children for him."Nobody dies from lack of sex. Its from lack of love we die from. There's nobody here I can love, all the people I could love are dead or somewhere else." Offred was ripped away from her life with her loving husband and everyone else she cares about and thrown into this new one where she's alone and isolated without her opinion mattering anymore. She no longer hold value as an individual anymore her value is all based on whether she can reproduce. And she knows all this she realizes is; and understands that to the Commander she has no special significance. "What he is doing is f*cking the lower part of my body. I do not say making love because this is not love making". Offred acknowledges that she wont ever feel loved again that once the war in her town started that all that was taken away from her and all the other woman in her town and ultimitly her demise contributes to the over all novel by showing the way women such as Offred lived before they lost their right and how they felt after.

Your start is pretty good, but there is little to no anaylsis and mostly summary. Your writing can also use better verbage.

You did good in explaining her inner thoughts on that subject of freedom, not only that but you manage to explain your thesis. i do want to say you shouldn't have start out "in...the handmaid tale'. I was able to understand your tear essay, but you should be a little organized. i might be wrong but it looks like you wrote it on the spot, long evidence & no introduction to them, theirs nothing wrong with that through my outlook, but others will not like that fact that you did it like that, take that into consideration, most people will not because that's the way it's supposed to be & thy're not open minded. other then that it's my favorite one i read so far, good job.
